Below are excerpts and links to my old Usenet postings. We MUST remember what was said and done in past years. That way we can spot all the NEW lies our media tells us before we get hoodwinked yet again. Please scroll down to see the excerpts before you click on the other links to the almost 500 other postings where I commented or was mentioned over a four year span. I posted through Google, mostly on talk.politics WARNING: Newsgroups are filled with "flaming" - that is, abusive, vulgar insults using vulgar, obscene language. I was called "ignorant" for claiming that Iraq would become a quagmire. Well, the "Cake Walk" conquest and "skirmishes" have been officially deemed a QUAGMIRE by our Senators and Media alike. No. I'm not gloating. Watching the growing number of dead, wounded and crippled kids coming home from the Middle East sickens and enrages me. Watching as our government spends a TRILLION dollars on the war - ONE THOUSAND BILLION DOLLARS - while Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security and other domestic maintenance spending is slashed (our infrastructure; roads, bridges, water/sewage treatment, etc. will gradually crumble). I truly wish I WAS wrong. I truly wish I was the delusional nutjob all those idiots on talk.politics told me I was. Many of my other dire predictions are also coming true. I know that more will follow. I'm sure many other Americans saw all of this coming, too. First scroll down to see the posts that begin with "Don Swayser." I for one was quite skeptical then, given the media lies over how sick the Iraqis were of their evil dictator, but yes for the record you had read it precisely. The question is where does it go from here. I think there's a good chance that it will become worse than Vietnam was. I have repeatedly said all this, now the mainstream media admits that Iraq is indeed a quagmire, but they still insist that it's not like Vietnam. President Bush also denied that Iraq is another Vietnam when questioned by a reporter in the White House Press Room. ---snipped--- I think our leaders and the industries that tell them what to do knew all along that Iraq would turn into a real war. Destroying three mosques ensured it. "Returning fire" or not - shooting up three mosques means there will never be peace between the US and Moslems in the region. ---snipped--- Bush promised us that Iraqi affairs will be turned back over to the Iraqi people by June 3rd. *********************** ADDED January, 2006 This is from April, 2004. Bush ensured US the people of Iraq were behind US. They welcomed US as "Liberators." They were grateful to US for toppling Saddam and were ready for "Democracy." Now it's 2006. The Iraqis are still shooting at US. What is the reality here? Was ANYTHING we were told back then anywhere near the truth? *********************** How do you expect the Iraqi people to cooperate with US after being treated so badly? "The Iraqis welcome US as liberators." - Read the news, folks. A million or more Iraqis have died so far from hunger, disease and lack of medical care, including up to 500,000 children during the sanctions. "Rebels, Insurgents, Terrorists." Nope - Resistance fighters trying to drive out Western invaders. In the lunchtime (East Coast) Bush-Blair White House address on Friday, April 16, Bush made a Freudian slip when he said "Our nations fake - FACE [challenges]" I think that says it all. Flame me if you want. I was flamed for calling a Iraq a [urban combat] "quagmire." Now it IS, officially, a quagmire.
