This al-Qaeda bomb test is very strange.
First, they use a fuse. Electric ignition blasting caps are used to detonate most modern high explosives.
Also, the fuse does not burn down to the ground before the buried explosive goes off.
Stranger still, you can hear what seems to be a shotgun or other firearm being cycled right after the blast.
Listen closely.
The explosion in what appears to be damp soil is consistent with an M80 firecracker or a round from a firearm.
Take your pick.

What's REALLY strange is that al-Qaeda is said to have their own audo-video PRODUCTION COMPANY!
