TV news is trusted by most Americans to "bring us the news." But what if TV news uses subliminal manipulation? Would it still be news, or brainwashing? In the two news videos below, notice the shades of dark indigo-blue and reds in the special effects backgrounds. Subliminal embeds in the near ultraviolet and near infrared can be inserted in such video images. We cannot consciously see those light frequencies, but our subconscious minds can.
Everybody recognises the crosshairs of a rifle scope. The plane is a target and we react to that image on a deep, emtional level; fear. More importantly, look at the flowing, morphing background effects. In the first one, there is a dark indigo blue background with concentric rings expanding as they rush toward the viewer. This is classic "eye fascination" hypnotic induction. Psychologists often use a swirling spiral to hypnotize children, who are extremely sensitive to hypnotic induction. Television induces a state of semi-hypnosis within about 30 seconds. It seems to be a property of the TV medium itself and needs no additional techniques to accomplish the effect. If someone is in an "Alpha" brain wave state already, simple eye fascination methods will easily induce a deeper state of suggestibility and cement the message deeply and firmly.
