I feel I must begin with a brief explanation to prepare you for the material I'm presenting here ( so you don't think I'm totally nuts).
Subliminal manipulation in the media is real. We all experience it every day but we don't notice it because of repression.
Repression is an unconscious perceptual defense; human beings see and hear what they want and block out the rest from conscious thought without realizing it.
The businessmen on Madison Avenue are counting on you to repress and actively suppress the information presented here.
Suppression is a conscious act of disregarding something - "You just have a dirty mind" is a common response I get from people.
Subliminal manipulation has progressed far beyond the crude tachistoscopic images flashed on movie theater screens ("subliminal flash") to make us buy popcorn and soda.
Remember, it's the advertising you don't see that gets you to buy something.

Once you accept the existence of subliminal manipulation in the mass media, or at least consider that it might exist, you'll start to see media images in a whole new light. If technology exists that can plant post hypnotic suggestions into our minds without the need to hypnotize us, the specter of Totalitarian mind control rears its ugly head. If this technology is used in a silly coffee maker commercial, what would stop governments and TV news shows from brainwashing entire populations into believing complete lies about the world? There are no laws against these modern methods of subliminal advertising. Tachistoscopes in movie theaters were banned decades ago. *FLASH* You're hungry. Buy Popcorn. *FLASH* You're thirsty. Buy Coke. But, as I wrote at the beginning of this presentation, the technologies for achieving subliminal penetration have become far more sophisticated than images of popcorn and written commands flashed on a movie theater screen. |
