I got this from national TV news: A video clip from an old 1960's era film featuring the late General William Westmoreland, who was the "Stormin' Norman" of Vietnam.
(Stormin' Norman of course was in charge of Desert Storm in Iraq)
Westmoreland is seen and heard (As seen on TV) saying,
"Eventually we can and we will free this country of the terror of the Viet Cong."
Of course he was talking about freeing Vietnam from um, the Vietnamese.
The rhetoric sounds exactly like the hogwash we listen to on TV news about Iraq and al-Qaeda today. We never seem to learn, huh?
If you don't remember what they said a month ago, much less 40 years ago, you're gonna get hoodwinked again and again.

The "Domino Theory" stated that if we let Vietnam fall to the Commies, then more and more countries would fall until we'd be overrun with them damn Godless Commie heathens.
Actually I paraphrased the "Domino Theory" just a bit.
Our forces retreated from Vietnam and the Communists did not topple country after country like dominoes.
Unless you count Costco, which is owned by the Red Chinese.
You can BUY high quality dominoes at Costco real cheap.
Maybe they DID "domino" us. And we LET them!
