The video is the brainwashing that seizes our attention,
and the new story the newscaster reads us is the conditioning.
Just like the hypnotist's watch.
The stereotype "hypnotists watch" is a hypnosis tool that produces
what's called "Eye Fascination" - something to distract the subject's
attention and give him something to focalize on.

Television actually causes the viewer to lapse into a suggestible,
hypnosis-like state.
The left hemisphere of the brain which controls critical thought
shuts down while the right hemisphere takes over. The right hemisphere interprets the world emotionally and allows
information in WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT IT.
According to at least one study, TV does this simply by the nature of
the display screen itself, without any extra carrier wave, etc.
