There's something gnawing at me: We are told thay we are at war,
and that our very survival is at stake. -HUH?-
All I see is a small band of fanatics that have been crushed, and
a kidney-dialisis fanatic being chased all over Afghanistan and Pakistan.
He might have been dead since before the shooting started, but used
as a
"carrot and stick" to drum up support for the war effort.
While small groups of leftover terrorist cells can cause a lot
of damage, it's extremely unlikely that they will endanger our
"very survival" as a nation.
If a midget gives a giant a hot foot, does that endanger
the giants survival?
No, I fear that the IDEA of terrorism is being used to curtail
Civil Liberties.

Bin Laden's power base is gone. Even if he has hidden "offshore" bank
accounts
he still cannot overcome all the scrutiny to get any money to any remaining
terrorist cells that may be in our country.
I acknowledge that small bands of ill-funded terrorists do a lot of
damage,
but I just can't see how they can endanger our "very survival."

Yes, the potential for thousands more Americans being killed or injured
is
there, but the "very survival" of our "Homeland" does not hang in the
balance.
Not unless Bin Laden's guys smuggled in a couple dozen high-yield nuclear
missiles.
Even though Bin Laden will be gone, the danger remains, and we will
by necessity need to "temporarily" give up our Liberty in order to
defend
what our country stands for - Liberty.
That frightens me. What if the "crackpots" are right, and it's all
just propaganda
to lull us into dropping our guard while a Fascist, Totalitarian World
Government
becomes firmly established?
If that happens, who do we blame then? Osama? Or ourselves?
